e-Citizen is a new programme for everyone who wants to use the Internet for work, social participation and life.

An ever-growing number of businesses, organisations and government departments are using the World Wide Web and e-mail to faciliate transactions and provide information and services, making the Web an important part of eveyday life. The e-Citizen certification programme is for you, unless you want to be left behind!

What You Will Learn
The e-Citizen programme is divided into three blocks which teach candidates everything they need to know to take advantage of the online world.

The three parts of e-Citizen

Foundation Skills In Block One candidates learn about computer hardware and software, discover how to work with files and folders, how to browse the World Wide Web, and how to use e-mail.
Information Search Block Two introduces candidates to the online information sources across a wide range of areas including news, government, consumer, travel, education/training, employment, health and business.
e-Participation In Block Three candidates learn how to interact with online service providers, and carry out routine tasks such as buying a CD or book, paying a bill, banking online, completing a tax return or making a holiday reservation.

Training, Testing, Certification - Earning your e-Citizen Certificate

At the end of their e-Citizen training, candidates take a single, online test in which they can demonstrate the skills that they have learned and practised during the course. An e-Citizen certificate is awarded to successful candidates.

e-Citizen is an international qualification, developed by the ECDL Foundation.
